LED ZEPPELIN Frontman Signs Guitar For Music Therapy Charity
November 25, 2007According to The Sunday Mail, LED ZEPPELIN frontman Robert Plant backed the Tartan Clef awards by donating a signed guitar which raised £4000 ($8,230) at the fundraising auction.
He sent the Ibanez acoustic, while two tickets for LED ZEP's sold-out reunion show raised a staggering £25,000 ($51,436).
Plant will join guitarist Jimmy Page and bassist John Paul Jones for the classic band's gig at the O2 Arena in London on December 10.
Single tickets have been selling on eBay for £1500 each.
Guests at the auction also bid for rock 'n' roll goodies including a Harley Davidson motorbike and a meal for 10 cooked at their home by Scots chef John Quigley.
Charity chairman Donald MacLeod said: "We want the Tartan Clefs to be Scotland's answer to The Brits...a tribute to our musical greats while raising cash for a very worthwhile cause."
